About Us

Apostles Fellowship is a non-traditional church ministry that seeks to encourage faith in God, hope in Christ's return, and love for one-another, through simple gatherings and online social networks.

Our Values

Apostles Fellowship holds to the following values...

    • We seek to encourage each other through positive words, deeds, and fellowship.
    • We seek to welcome expressions of diversity in beliefs, race, and peoples.
    • We seek to study the Bible, as its own best interpreter, with open discussion.
    • We seek to allow time for social interaction, light dinning, and group prayer.
    • We seek to maintain a missional project, activity, or supported endeavor.

Our Beliefs

We hold to three fundamental beliefs as the pillars of Apostles Fellowship's foundation of theology, local and online fellowships, and as our Covenant of Membership:

We purpose together to encourage one-another in...

  • Faith - We believe that faith in God moves the circumstances of life (Mk. 11:22), through faith we receive salvation by the grace of Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:8), it is the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5:22). and we grow in faith through the study of God's inspired Word (Rm. 10:17).
  • Hope - We believe that hope is the attitude change of the new birth conversion of Christ (1Pt. 1:3), it is the influence of our witness with others (1Pt. 3:15), we gain hope through the reading of Scripture (Rm. 15;5), and the blessed hope of believers is the return of Christ (Titus 2:13).
  • Love - We believe that unconditional love is the character of God (1Jn. 4:16), it is the fulfilling of God's law (Rm. 13:10), unconditional love is put in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Rm. 5:5), and it is the love of God for fallen humanity that leads the plan of redemption (Jn 3:16).

Our Pastoral Theology

The following "10 Fundemental Beliefs" are stated here as a foundation of Apostles Fellowship's pastoral theology and leadership. It is our pastoral leadership's intention to leave unclear, disputed, or differing points of biblical interpretation to open discussion and individual conviction, but not as tests of fellowship.

10 Fundemental Beliefs...

1.) The Bible, the Old and New Testaments, is God’s word to all mankind.  It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.  Because it is inspired of God, the truth that is revealed through it is trustworthy and without error.  (II Timothy 3:16)

2.) God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.  He has eternally existed in three co-equal persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  (II Corinthians 13:14)

3.) Jesus Christ is the full revelation of God in human flesh and shares in the complete character and being of God.  Being co-equal with God, He was born of a virgin; lived a sinless human life; and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind throughout all ages by dying on the cross.  He arose from the dead on the third day to demonstrate His power over sin and death and ascended to heaven where He reigns as the King of kings and Lord of lords and serves as the Mediator between God and man and the role model for all Christians until His physical return to earth to establish His kingdom. (Philippians 2:5-11)

4.) The Holy Spirit, as the third person of the God-head, is present in the world to bring all mankind to a knowledge of Christ by the conviction of sin; to indwell the body and life of every believer through the coming of the Holy Spirit at the time of their salvation, and to gift all believers for the ministry of the Gospel in the world.  (John 16:7-13; I Corinthians 12:12-13)

5.) Man is a unique creation of God, created male and female and sharing His image and likeness. Mankind was given dominion over the earth and procreation as husband and wife, and the sanctity of marriage between male and female only. Man is the supreme object of the creation, marred by disobedience and disbelief and in need of being restored to relationship with God through Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23)

6.) Salvation is the process where God begins, through a gift of grace initiated by man’s faith response to the conviction of the Holy Spirit, a new life and spiritual journey with Christ, in Christ-likeness.  It restores man’s broken relationship with God and provides forgiveness and peace with God and bestows eternal life on the new believer through faith and not by works. (Ephesians 2:1-10)

7.) Baptism is our confession of our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and testify of our desire to walk in newness of life. It is by immersion in water and not a requirement for salvation. (Rom. 6:1-6; Matt. 28:19, 20.)

8.) The Church is the body of Christ manifested through the lives of those who have come to know Christ as Savior and Lord, and as the only mediator between man and God.  The church, as the gathering of believers, is committed to worship, teaching, fellowship, and encouragement through developing relationships and ministry.  The church, as the distributed believers, is committed to ministry to others, sharing the message of Christ and making a difference in Jesus’ name in people’s lives and the world.  (Hebrews 10:24-25)

9.) Every Believer has equal access to God because of the saving ministry of Jesus Christ and the gifting of the Holy Spirit. We believe that God, through the call to salvation, has gifted and ordained every follower, to discern God's will through the written word of God, to communion with God through the priveldge of prayer, and to serve the church as a minister of the gospel, male and female. (Ephesians 4:11-16)

10.) The Second Coming of Christ is our blessed hope and the ultimate act of mankind's redemption. According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return literally, personally, and visibly in glory to the earth. Although we don't know the time and details of this event, which are in God the Father's hand, we know the dead will be raised, the rewards of eternity will be recieved, and the earth will be made new. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 19 - 21)

Our Vision

The vision for the future of Apostles Fellowship is at the will and glory of God and the mission of His Son, Jesus Christ, and in yielding direction to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

First, we are praying for the Spirit of God to send us fellow believers who share in Apostles Fellowship's missional heart and will join us in our weekly Bible study / prayer / dining fellowships at our pastor's home.

Second, we envision a community of believers who will grow from our pastors home to a neutral location in Mobile, Alabama where we can be more effective in reaching a greater community for the gospel.

Third, we envision moving to a non-traditional location like a restaurant or a bar & grill, but keeping a Bible study / prayer / dining format to Apostles Fellowship.

Fourth, we would like to see the mission of Apostles Fellowship become a model to equip other non-traditional fellowships of like-minded believers, through pastoral support, ministerial credentials, and financial resources.

Our Affiliations

Apostles Fellowship is independent and not denominationally governed. However, we have chosen to affiliate as a partner with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship for the benefit of global missions stewardship, identity with protestant Baptist principals, and the fact that our pastor really likes these guys.
