1.) The Bible, the
Old and New Testaments, is God’s word to all
mankind.
It was written by human authors, under the
supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the
supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and
living.
Because it is inspired of God, the truth that
is revealed through it is trustworthy and without
error.
(II
Timothy 3:16)
2.) God
is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has
eternally existed in three co-equal persons; the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (II Corinthians
13:14)
3.) Jesus
Christ is the full revelation of God in
human flesh and shares in the complete character and
being of God.
Being co-equal with God, He was born of a
virgin; lived a sinless human life; and offered
himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all
mankind throughout all ages by dying on the
cross.
He arose from the dead on the third day to
demonstrate His power over sin and death and
ascended to heaven where He reigns as the King of
kings and Lord of lords and serves as the Mediator
between God and man and the role model for all
Christians until His physical return to earth to
establish His kingdom. (Philippians
2:5-11)
4.) The Holy Spirit,
as the third person of the God-head, is present in
the world to bring all mankind to a knowledge of
Christ by the conviction of sin; to indwell the body
and life of every believer through the coming of the
Holy Spirit at the time of their salvation, and to
gift all believers for the ministry of the Gospel in
the world.
(John
16:7-13; I Corinthians
12:12-13)
5.) Man is a unique
creation of God, created male and female and sharing
His image and likeness. Mankind was given
dominion over the earth and procreation as
husband and wife, and the sanctity of marriage
between male and female only. Man is the
supreme object of the creation, marred by
disobedience and disbelief and in need of being
restored to relationship with God through Jesus
Christ. (Genesis 1:26-27;
Romans 3:23)
6.) Salvation is the
process where God begins, through a gift of grace
initiated by man’s faith response to the conviction
of the Holy Spirit, a new life and spiritual journey
with Christ, in Christ-likeness. It restores
man’s broken relationship with God and provides
forgiveness and peace with God and bestows eternal
life on the new believer through faith and not by
works. (Ephesians
2:1-10)
7.) Baptism is
our confession of our faith in the death
and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and testify of our
desire to walk in newness of life. It is by
immersion in water and not a requirement for
salvation. (Rom. 6:1-6; Matt. 28:19,
20.)
8.) The Church is the
body of Christ manifested through the lives of those
who have come to know Christ as Savior and Lord, and
as the only mediator between man and God. The church,
as the gathering of believers, is committed to
worship, teaching, fellowship, and encouragement
through developing relationships and ministry. The church,
as the distributed believers, is committed to
ministry to others, sharing the message of Christ
and making a difference in Jesus’ name in people’s
lives and the world. (Hebrews
10:24-25)
9.) Every Believer
has equal access to God because of the saving
ministry of Jesus Christ and the gifting of the Holy
Spirit. We believe
that God, through the call to salvation, has gifted
and ordained every follower, to discern God's will
through the written word of God, to communion with
God through the priveldge of prayer, and to serve
the church as a minister of the gospel, male
and female.
(Ephesians
4:11-16)
10.) The Second Coming of
Christ is our blessed hope and
the ultimate act of mankind's
redemption. According to His promise, Jesus
Christ will return literally, personally, and
visibly in glory to the earth. Although we don't
know the time and details of this event, which are
in God the Father's hand, we know the dead will
be raised, the rewards of eternity will be
recieved, and the earth will be made new. (1
Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 19 -
21)
